HERD BOOK REGISTRY APPLICATION
GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS

CALF

    0 Give percentage of bison content in animal being registered or Fullblood
     0 Sex = male or female
     0 Limit name to 28 letters including spaces
     0 Must give month, day and year of birth
     0 If multiple birth, 2=twins,3=triplets
     0 Herd Prefix is the same for all of your animals (Preferably 4 standard letters).
     0 Ear tatto is up to 4 standard letters or numbers. It is required that the last character be the
           international year letter. (See Rules of Registry)
     0 Location of ear tattoo: LE = left ear, RE = right ear, BE = both ears.

SIRE

     0 If pasture bred, simply list "pasture" and give bull name and registration number.
      0 If AI, give date(s) of service. Animals that are the product of AI and the dam has been
            serviced by a different bull the second time, whether pasture or AI, will be questioned
            unless the birth date of the calf falls well into the range to correspond with the correct sire.
            DNA parentage testing could be required to determine the correct sire.

DAM

    0 If dam is Beefalo, give her percentage of bison content. If not , give breed.
     0 Birth year of dam is necessary for performance data.

BREEDER

     0 Breeder is the owner of the dam at the time of breeding

PERFORMANCE DATA--NECESSARY FOR PERFORMANCE REGISTRY

    0 Birth weight
     0 Calving ease: 1 = unassisted, 2= easy pull, 3 = hard pull, 4 = caesarean,
            5 = abnormal presentation, 6 = dead on arrival, 7 = induce or premature
     0 Management code: 1 = dam only, 2 = dam with creep feed
            3 = without dam--bucket fed, 4 = twin or foster dam
     0 Weaning and yearling weights must be actual with dates of weighing given this is
             essential to compute EPDs (Expected Progeny Difference).

REMMITANCE

     0 Check off registration, transfer,  DNA test kit or any combination you require
              and include correct payment.

IF THE ANIMAL BEING REGISTERED IS ALSO BEING TRANSFERRED, A TRANSFER FORM IS ALSO REQUIRED AND THE TRANSFER FEE APPLIES IN ADDITION TO THE REGISTRATION FEE.
